The DesPlaines Valley Council Voyageur Trace District Spring Camporee will be held April 16-18 at the Scout Adventure camp in Rochelle, IL.  The theme is Race into the New Century of Scouting and will be run similar to the televsion show "The Amazing Race".  

Patrols will be travelling from country to country completing and learning Scout based skills and competing with other patrols and Troops.  In the afternoon there will be a Map and Compass competitive orienteering course set up and several afternon hikes will be held for those needing to meet any of the Second and First Class Hiking requirements.   Mr. Carnathan the Scoutmaster from Troop 41 has said that he will lead at least one of the Historical Merit Badge classes(most likely Pathfinding) for any First Class or higher ranked Scout in attendance if National has approved the requirements for the merit badge.  The fee is $10.00 to cover meals for the outing and a permission slip is attached.  Please return money and permission slips at or before the April 1 meeting.   Our Troop wil be responsible for running a tent construction station for the event.
