KLONDIKE DERBY 2010

Well the snow arrived just in time for this year's Klondike Derby. Cold again, yeah, but a really great day for the Derby. In fact, a few people were wearing sunscreen!

The boys Troop 60 team, calling themselves the Perkis Patrol, really had a great time going through all the scout challenges. John L won the log toss, setting the record. We knew that because our patrol was the last ones to do that challenge. Any of the other individual challenge winners were not announced, as they have been in the past. This year's Klondike Derby was being run by new leadership and they decided to only award the prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and winner of the final sled race.

I think the boys should write the council and let them know they should have ribbons for the 1st place winner of each individual challenges. Go to it guys!

MARCH COURT OF HONOR

The troop is happy to welcome 3 new scouts to Troop 60! They are Marcos, Leon and Dominic. We are very happy to have you in the troop. We have been in a search for more scouts to cross over to our troop. The boys have embraced the new scouts and made them feel welcome. None of them are timid it letting them knoiw how much fun and learning goes on in Scouting. It looks like the new boys will fall right in.

As this court of honor proved, many scouts moving up, acheiving rank advancement and they earned a bunch of Merit Badges, Like Reilly getting 10! Way to go Reilly! In fact, congratualtions to all the boys on their individual acheivements. You make us all proud!

It was great to see a good showing of scouts and parents. All had a good experience and we look forward to seeing all the new faces for years to come. Next Court of Honor will be in June before summer camp. Stay tuned...
